The technologies in the Porsche Macan are forming the basis for providing the handling characteristics typical of a sportscar in a compact SUV. The consistent lightweight construction philosophy embodied by the aluminium axles and chassis components contributes to driving dynamics and comfort. The powerful turbocharged engine options send power through a PDK transmission and 4WD system with similar to that used in the Porsche 911 4WD models.

The Macan.
The turbocharged two-liter engine in the Macan delivers 185 kW (252 hp) from 5,000 to 6,800 rpm and comes standard with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission like all Macan models. As a result, the Macan delivers impressive acceleration: It is capable of reaching 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, and with the optional Sport Chrono-Package, the time is reduced to 6.5 seconds.
The Macan S and Macan S Diesel Models.
The Macan S and Macan S Diesel models are the defining performance class vehicles within the segment. The Macan S is equipped with a 3-litre V6 biturbo engine delivering an output of 340 hp (250 kW). The role of the high-torque powerhouse of the Macan range is assumed by the Macan S Diesel thanks to its 258 hp (190 kW) turbo diesel engine, which provides a torque of 580 Nm across a broad engine speed range. However, the Macan is not just setting the benchmark for driving dynamics – the vehicle also delivers the combination of efficiency, comfort and everyday suitability that has become a defining feature of the Porsche brand.
The Porsche Advanced Cockpit and PCM.
A standard feature of the Macan models is the Porsche Communication Management System (PCM). The PCM can be operated by performing multi-touch gestures on the seven-inch display, similar to operating a smartphone. User handwriting inputs are also possible. Mobile phones and smartphones can now also be connected via Wi-Fi. Also new is connecting an iPhone to the PCM to use Apple Car Play. The Porsche Macan is writing a new chapter in the relationship between driver and car.
